Greetings from Texas!
Hello runners! I'm so excited to be here to cheer for you on the journey to your first marathon! Making the decision to run a marathon is something to be super proud of, and you're in for an incredibly rewarding ride. You're already setting yourself up for success by putting your trust in Taylor, and I'm super grateful to her for creating this community!
I started running in 2022, not long after getting diagnosed with and starting treatment for Crohn's Disease. I had been very sick for several years before diagnosis, so once things started to get better I knew I had to make the most of having a healthy body and get moving!
My first race was a half marathon, and the moment I crossed the finish line I knew I had more in me and that I could push myself even further. I signed up to run my first marathon, did a ton of reading about training principles, and developed a plan. After months of training, I finished the Cowtown Marathon in February 2024 (on an 81 degree day...more on that another time).
I learned so much while training for my first marathon, and those lessons have given me a solid foundation to build on for my subsequent marathons as I work toward my longterm goal of qualifying for Boston. I look forward to sharing what I've learned along the way and to learn from you all too!
