What’s your typical hydration situation for long training runs? Feel free to comment why! I prefer a handheld flask to avoid stopping/chafing, & will supplement with a vest for my longest runs.

7 miles is about the longest I can go before having to use a vest - then I don’t have to worry about running out of water! I have definitely stashed a water bottle around a post before though when I didn’t want to mess with a vest. 😂

Fueling can get to be expensive, so be open to trying different kinds! (Shorter runs are recommended in case your stomach doesn’t react well to it.) I discovered that baby food applesauce packets from Aldi ($0.89 each) work really well for me in terms of fueling, and it saves me some cash, especially since I fuel every 20 minutes. Just be mindful of your electrolyte intake - the baby food doesn’t have any sodium or electrolytes in it, so I know I need to take those in a different method.

For long runs I typically turn on a podcast, but for the others I’m jamming out to some sort of alternative/rock/metal! Love the idea of podcasts on recovery days - music can get you too hyped for those sometimes 😂
Wednesday wins!
Let’s shout em out - big or small!!! My win of the week was running a virtual half over the weekend! It was challenging, but helped me recognize a few areas I’m feeling less strong in and was able to get some advice from my coach on how to tackle and improve 🫡
