How’s your Monday going?
I’m gonna be honest here… I ignored every one of my alarms this morning 😩 My husband and I decided to challenge ourselves with a new rule of no screens in bed. We’re hoping it helps us get better sleep and start our mornings on the right foot. It’s a small change, but a necessary one for us. We’re planning to check in after a week to see how it’s going and if we’ll keep the hard line. 👉 Anyone else have boundaries or routines that help you protect your rest? p.s I love this GIF. This was me and my alarms this morning 🫠🤣

Celebrating I got back on my mat today!
I took a few days off to rest my back, hips, and neck, but I’m happy to say I got back to it today with a solid 30-minute workout! ✨Bonus: I logged a good walk this morning too :)

Tonight I played badminton! 🏸
I love the game and tonight I got to play a round with my cousins. I was a little nervous because of my back pain, but two good things came out of it: First, all my core work really showed up. I naturally kept my core activated and I felt really supported. Second, I’ve actually been feeling some relief in my back/hips/neck. Maybe it’s from the rest, massage, my magnesium spray, gentle stretching, hanging on the pull-up bar, or just time. I’m not sure and I don’t think I will really know how I feel until tomorrow, but in this moment I am so happy I got to play! Part of my health vision is being able to enjoy fun activities like this, so it felt like a big win in more ways than one. How’s your weekend been? 🏃‍♀️Any movement wins for you?

The truth
The truth is, I haven’t worked out in two days. But I don’t see it as failure—or at least I’m fighting against that feeling. I recognize it as much-needed rest. I’m in some kind of flare-up with my neck, back, and hips, and even sleep is uncomfortable right now. I’m not sure what triggered it—maybe adding heavier weights or lifting that heavy stroller—but either way, I’ve had to shift into the slow lane the past couple of days. And I’m okay with that. This is exactly why gentle fitness accountability matters. At my age, stage, and situation, I have to find a sustainable path forward. While I can’t push myself too much right now, I’ll be back at it as soon as my body cooperates. In the meantime, I’m realizing I can pivot toward some gentler restorative work. That’s the plan for now. I’ll be hitting my mat tomorrow and checking in then. How’s everyone else doing?
