Did you break up with your phone?
Have any of you been successful at using your phone less? Any tips to do all the things off-line? Just started reading this book How To Break Up with Your Phone, by Catherine Price, very interesting! Having a hard time disentangling the million things I use my iPhone for, many I hadn't even noticed until starting to read this book. It's so convenient to have everything on your phone, isn't it? I would need to revert to multiple devices, notebooks, etc. to do all the tasks that now live on my phone. Which I'm not exactly opposed to, it just takes some thinking through and walking back the past 15 years or so lol.I'm curious if anyone here has been successful, in any way, big or small - even the small wins are super exciting and helpful! Hoping to learn from your experiences! Thank you! 🙏😊
Tips for slow travel hobbies & digital nomads
Hi @Connie Riet, as an artist and fellow knitter, as I prepare to slow travel the world as a digital nomad in the next 1-2 yrs (like you), I find a lot of inspiration in everything you do! Do you have any tips for continuing creative hobbies while slow traveling? What habits have you noticed have served you well on this journey so far? Do you source materials in cities where you spend time, give away finished projects, leave extra supplies behind? I'm also digging deep into how to continue to grow my art business and switch to being as close to 100% online. I currently sketch live fashion illustrations at events for luxury retail brands and event planners, weddings, birthdays, etc. which is my bread & butter. Great business to have here in Los Angeles, where there's a lot of opportunity for this type of work! But I want to be able to work from anywhere in the world and not be as location dependent as I am now. Any tips along these lines would be most welcome! Thank you so much! 🙏💖
Bedtime routine ?
What are your favorite bedtime routines to wind down and to stop wanting to 'do one more thing'? I'd love to learn new habits to stop the brain overdrive and to feel excited about going to sleep! Have you by any chance made a 180° shift from having a hard time allowing yourself to wind down to now looking forward to going to bed, and if so, how? Is there hope for me, too? 🤞 I used to be the best sleeper ever ... until menopause hit! Now I'm a completely different person ... whaaat?? Nobody told me it was gonna be like this ... I had no idea I would become someone who has a hard time going to bed, falling asleep and staying asleep! Ugh! Hoping some of your routines will work for me, too, and I can turn my evening habits around! Thanks!! 💤
Sleep Problems
Good Morning Ladies! I was wondering...does anyone else get up at the crack of 3:00 a.m post menopause? For the last few years my wake up cycles have went bonkers! I've tried everything imaginable, prescription, natural, but still can't sleep past 4:00 a.m. The only good thing about it is that I'm in the gym before it gets too crazy.
Easing into retirement
For you ladies who are retired, what do you know now, that you’d wished you’d realized 10 years prior….5 years prior….2 years prior….. I’m not taking my foot off the gas, but would like the transition to be more gradual then -work one day- the next day ?
