My house finally got booked!! It was through ABNB and for only 2 weeks. It is an insurance claim family but the booking was 3rd party.
I was out if town when it all happened and the house wasn't ready for guests due to the house being weatherized for the storm that came through. The kitchen floor was full of cushions from the deck furniture, the rechargeable light that goes over a picture was charging on the kitchen counter, the water is well water and brown as mud!!
There was a lot of texting going on.
I never got to meet the family before hand and payment hasn't gone through yet and it's been over 24 hours since check-in. I need to go over and take the foam covering of the crawl space grates and bring a welcome basket but they told me it would be better when they aren't there tomorrow...??
Are these things that should raise an eyebrow, or are they typical?
They only booked 2 weeks, I don't know their circumstances except they just came from another ABNB. I'm gearing up to do some marketing outside of insurance to keep the money flowing but don't want to kick them out unnecessarily if they need it longer.
They seem very guarded and all I'm trying to do is accommodate. I feel like I should just get what I need done at the house, leave the gift basket and pray for payment.
Please, anyone that can, share more wisdom and insight.
OR, tell me to take a chill pill...🤣😂
