Failure Connecting to Fabric DW via SSMS Using MS Service Principal Account

Can someone please help me? I've set up a Principal Account/Group in Azure and granted them admin permissions to the PBI Fabric workspace. I'm trying to connect to Fabric DW via SSMS using a Microsoft Entra Service Principal account, but I keep encountering a misleading error: 'ClientSecretCredential authentication failed: AADSTS700016: Application with identifier 'app:APPId' was not found in the directory 'My Directory'.'

Strangely, I was able to connect via SSMS to the Analysis Service using the same service principal account, but with the server name as the PBI workspace URL. Additionally, I can connect to the Fabric DW using my Microsoft Entra MFA.

Does Fabric support connecting to DW using a Service Principal account? If yes, I'm really hoping someone can point out what I might be missing.
