Communicating Better
Happy Sunday MCI Family!! I was listening to Vihn this afternoon and I thought I would share his video with us all. He teaches speaking/communication. Two of the takeaways that I got from the teaching were: 1) When someone asks me a question, especially since I do LinkedIn lives, it is to apply this framework...3 steps, 2 types, 1 thing. 2) When I am rehearsing my presentations, I do it as if the audience is in infront of me, and that way I will use up 80% of my cognitive space for remembering my presentation. https://youtu.be/WVxCGgmmOmY?si=qK5AGAOe1iFjrCpX Hope you find it useful too.
Let's Talk About it!
Tonight during our 8PM EST Live coaching session we will be practicing and working on our 2 minute talks and presentations strategies. So, come ready to share. You may speak on anything for 2 minutes, but it would help if this was on the topic of your coaching program, about your product, a test run for a pitch, etc. Remember to consider our Max Potential 5T Fly Talk speaking method: The 5T FLY Talk Method 1. Touch – Connect with the audience emotionally.Start with a relatable story, question, or moment that lets the audience feel seen and understood. 2. Teach – Deliver the core principle or lesson. This is where you share the strategy, framework, or insight that helps solve the problem. 3. Toss – Challenge the audience to think differently.Toss them a new perspective, idea, or belief that stretches their mindset. 4. Top It Off – Reinforce the message with a powerful example or testimony. Show proof that the principle works through results, case studies, or transformation stories. 5. Tip – Leave them with one clear, practical action.A simple step they can apply immediately so the talk creates movement, not just motivation. In short: Touch their heart → Teach their mind → Toss them a new idea → Top it off with proof → Tip them into action. Can't wait to see you tonight at 8PM EST https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89221624026?pwd=ODVmenRya3l4MmhieGoyMVVxTy9EZz09
Let's Talk About it!
Here’s Why Your Talk Didn’t Connect!
There are language barriers between generations, learn how to connect with everyone. 🎤 Speaking to One Audience is Easy… Speaking to 4 Generations? That’s Leadership. Today, I’m preparing for a powerful 2-Day Masterclass on Multi-Generational Organizational Success at St. James Church in Durham, NC, and one thing is clear: If you can connect across generations, you can lead anywhere. Whether you’re speaking in a church, boardroom, classroom, or conference… your ability to communicate across generations will determine your impact AND your income. Here are 5 quick tips to help you speak to multi-generational audiences effectively: ⸻ 🔑 1. Speak to VALUES, not just AGE Every generation is different, but values like purpose, growth, respect, and impact are universal. Start there. ⸻ 🎯 2. Use Multiple Communication Styles • Stories for Boomers • Practical application for Gen X • Collaboration for Millennials • Visual + quick hits for Gen Z One message… multiple delivery styles. ⸻ 📖 3. Bridge Wisdom + Innovation Honor experience while introducing new ideas. The magic happens when tradition meets transformation. ⸻ 💡 4. Make It Interactive Don’t just talk AT them, engage them. Questions, examples, and moments of reflection create connection across every age group. ⸻ 🔥 5. Focus on Relevance Every generation is asking the same question in a different way: 👉🏾 “What does this mean for ME right now?” Answer that and you win the room. ⸻ I believe this: 🗣️ “When generations understand each other, organizations grow stronger together.” If you’re a speaker, leader, coach, or pastor… mastering this skill is a game changer. Let’s build something that speaks to EVERY generation in the room. #MaxPotential #Leadership #PublicSpeaking #GenerationalLeadership #ChurchLeadership Coaching SpeakerLife MakeAPlay
