👋🙂
Hey y'all, although I've been around for the past few months (thanks to the Mixing Intensive this past November), but I was a little too shy to come out of my shell and say hello. I would give you my background, but I'd rather spare you from all the boring stuff and would rather do things a little differently, if that's cool? 😉 I was recently at the NYC EngineerFest and got to talk to a lot of incredible people over the course of the event... so many people from so many different walks of life, all with their own unique journeys and stories of joy, pain, grief, sorrow, and everything in between... but the one thing that stood out to me most was how friendly and welcoming everyone was despite all of what they'd gone through to get here. In case any of y'all missed these, some great releases have dropped since my entry into the world of mastering.com, and I'd love to share them with you... and some have been around, but also need to be shared with the world! Some of these talented folks are here with us in TRE, while others are in the larger Mastering.com Members Club, and some are from other places 🙂 Swing Factory Sounds 👉 https://open.spotify.com/track/3a8SlI5gPODt4Lrn0jnNzT?si=1897ed8cc8fc4ee3 Kway Cush 👉 https://open.spotify.com/track/0gHuYQ5xJxqDuHVImOoUyF?si=0599ccf1b7004951 International Maschine Orchestra 👉 https://open.spotify.com/artist/5LXAAOranZCvvkjJc0Aiob?si=5-SXCDyvSQ2QZtof-c5reg 9 Live Roses 👉 https://open.spotify.com/track/2nzzBCBuFsW5BR0fFh5KSj?si=77fa44efeeeb46af Serene Sounds DPC 👉 https://on.soundcloud.com/Sf3fyDmKBIWNEUvemn Juknette 👉 https://open.spotify.com/track/2B6LzGmlcNgEbwmb93Zzxq?si=c790a489187346cb

Initial Dynamic Control For Vocals
Hey folks! I am new to vocal editing and was wondering what is everyone's preferred method for controlling the dynamics of vocals before compression? The method taught in music production 101 is clip gain automation, which works well. But I was thinking if I can get the same results through riding the fader and then bouncing the track? I was also wondering if plugins like Wave's Vocal Rider has its place in speeding up the process? I was told by someone who works in the industry that many professionals (especially the younger ones) forgo manual clip gain automation in favour of these plugins. Which made me curious if quality was sacrificed in an effort of saving some time?
