No Tangential Only Essential #10
I can't believe it! It's our tenth session! I got to know and brush off a lot of words and expressions, such as, "weigh down, proximity, preen, jammed, hoodwink, topsy-turvy, sempiternal, come clean", just to name a few. So bring your vocab items and practice your speaking, telling us about them and answering questions. Let's keep up our improvement alive! This Tuesday at 7 p.m. CET we're gonna get that ball rolling!
HOW TO LEARN JOB INTERVIEW ENGLSIH & WORKPLACE ENGLISH
I am a junior college student struggling to improve my oral English and figure out how to handle job interviews. To be honest, Iโ€™ve been making DD (DD 123) , practicing my spoken English, and training my listening skills every day. Iโ€™m curious if there are any interesting and useful sitcoms suitable for people applying to international companies. Additionally, if you have any advice or tips, please share them with meโ€”I would greatly appreciate it. By the way, Iโ€™ve watched over 32 episodes of Seinfeld daily, but it hasnโ€™t been helpful for learning business or job interview English. NOW, i am at high B1 level-LOW B2 level.โ›„
I've learned a new phrase "back burner"
If something is on the back burner,it is temporarily not being dealt with or considered, especially because it is not urgent or important. e.g. We've all had to put our plans on the back burner for a while. I've learned the literal meaning of "back burner" from the following video. It's fun.๐Ÿ˜€ The phrase "back burner" is more commonly used as in idiom. You move something to the back burner when something else comes up that has become more important. It doesn't mean you're not going to work on it. It just means you're not going to work on it right now or very much!
