This one was easy right? Let's go. The joke: The past, the present, and the future walked into a bar… You know what?.... It was tense! Explanation: Past, present, and future are verb tenses in English. When they “walked into a bar,” that situation becomes tense. The punchline “It was tense!” works in two ways: Emotionally tense (awkward or uncomfortable) Grammatically tense (because past, present, and future are tenses) So the humor comes from the double meaning of the word “tense.”
