Who is Lazier?
We all know that there are some differences between American English and the British English, some say that American English is easier because they are lazy! 😀Things like they forget you (u) in color, or they pick the easy words like "eggplant" instead of Aubergine 🤔. Here are some examples, see what you think?
American / British
Pants / Trousers
Flashlight / Torch
Sidewalk / Pavement
Dreamed / Dreamt
Eye glasses / Glasses
Learned / Learnt
Sweater / Jumper
Elevator / Lift
Cookies / Biscuits
Gasoline / Petrol
plow / plough
Apartment / Flat
But it doesn't stop there! It's grammar too!
American / British
"I just ate" / "I've just eaten"
"on the weekend" / "at the weekend"
"I lost my keys" / "I've lost my keys"
"We don't need to hurry" / "We needn't hurry"
"Have you got a problem" / "Do you have a problem"
"My sister is still in the hospital" / "My sister is still in hospital"
So who do you think is the laziest or easiest English? 🤭😀😆😂🤣🤣
