How embarrassing!
This morning when I went to the park, I saw three or four large grey-headed ducks pecking at a little duckling. After watching for a while, I thought the poor little one was too weak to fight back, and my heart ached terribly.
I couldn’t hold back any longer, so I rushed over to chase the bigger ducks away until I made sure the duckling was safe. Right after I finished, I noticed an elderly couple staring at me strangely.
I explained I was saving the little duck, and they sighed and told me that what I thought was bullying was actually the adult ducks showing affection and competing to dote on it.
