One thing I hear again and again as we get older is, "I just don't get down on the ground anymore." Honestly, that's exactly why I chose to be a lifelong mover. I know I'm not the only one who wants to stay capable, curious, and mobile as the years roll on. Whether you've made that decision for yourself or not, here's the truth: If you want to move well as you age, you have to practice getting downv— and getting back up. THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE: Play with it. Get creative. Find reasons to get all the way down to the ground and rise again in as many different ways as you can. Don't worry about technique right now. The magic is in the doing. How many times will you try it? How many variations can you come up with? Have a blessed week — and enjoy the game.

Twisting and Moving.
Recently, I have been making sure that squating is an important part of my routine. I don't lift heavy back squats much. Sometimes I will use my son as the weight. (60lbs) However, most of the time when we are squating our spine is locked in and this creates a situation that, if you are not twisting and moving, you may risk injury. Many people who only lift weights move in a very rigid, not fluid way. This is not how I want to move. I want to be able to move fluidly for a lifetime. This is a big reason why I will do twisting motions regularly. Las night when I couldn't sleep, I did some stretching and twisting that made me feel like I could relax enough to get back to sleep.
