Growing Pains
Either it is because I am doing something that is new that I have never done before. Or, it has been a long time since I have done these activities. It doesn't matter what category you are in within this. What does matter. You are making an effort to do the things to get you where you want to be or with what you are planning to become. There will be rough times. You will be tired, sore, frustrated, etc. That is ok, keep learning, keep growing. I am here to help if you need it! Today I am doing this 5 minute challenge. What are you doing?

Huge gains
I have been doing these for a few years and need to share how much it has helped my knees, hips, and back. You can do as much or as little of this as you like but here is a video with S sit change overs (front and back), W sits, Cossack squats, and back arches. If you would like me to break it up, let me know. I am happy to talk through the whole progression. Worth trying for a few minutes a day. Let me know how it helps.

First squat.
Did not post this before and I apologize. This is pretty much a Hindu squat and worth putting into your daily schedule. My wife said that I look good and barely work out compared to her. I assume part is from the fact that I am a man. Another part of that is that she does not give herself enough credit for the shape that she is in (because she looks fabulous). And the last part that I believe is worth the whole post. The way you workout matters. The effort that you put in is a huge part. Keep grinding and try a few deep squats.

Don’t be afraid to go heavy.
Gym culture to me is confusing. Everyone’s different goals mean wildly different activities are done. My advice, figure out what your goals are first. I think that it is important to be able to lift something heavy. Know what you want to be able to do. My favorite advice is actually go a little lighter after you find your goal. Build up a base, learn the movements. There is time. And maybe try out the little weights a bit. They are way easier to move around…

Get down.
One thing I hear again and again as we get older is, "I just don't get down on the ground anymore." Honestly, that's exactly why I chose to be a lifelong mover. I know I'm not the only one who wants to stay capable, curious, and mobile as the years roll on. Whether you've made that decision for yourself or not, here's the truth: If you want to move well as you age, you have to practice getting downv— and getting back up. THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE: Play with it. Get creative. Find reasons to get all the way down to the ground and rise again in as many different ways as you can. Don't worry about technique right now. The magic is in the doing. How many times will you try it? How many variations can you come up with? Have a blessed week — and enjoy the game.
