Getting Into The Details With Google Ads
Hey SDK fam, I recently made some major changes to a google ad campaign that was not converting at all. I noticed we were getting lots of clicks from irrelevant search terms so I added a whole bunch of new search terms to the negative key words list and cut back on my regular search terms. Since then, the overall daily impressions and clicks have drastically dropped but my CPC and CTR have not changed. So far I don't think enough time has passed to say whether or not this was a good idea but...
I'm curious to hear year take on the following related to google ads campaigns:
  1. How many keywords do you typically set up per ad group?
  2. How often are you changing your key words? Landing page?
  3. How often are you adding irrelevant search terms to your negative key word list?
  4. When/how do you determine that it's time to make changes to your landing page for optimization?
  5. How often do you make changes to your landing pages? If major changes are made, how much time to you give it to determine whether or not the changes worked?
I know they're very particular questions but I find them very relevant to running a google ads campaign and I'm curious to hear how you all manage these things!
