Getting Into The Details With Google Ads
Hey SDK fam, I recently made some major changes to a google ad campaign that was not converting at all. I noticed we were getting lots of clicks from irrelevant search terms so I added a whole bunch of new search terms to the negative key words list and cut back on my regular search terms. Since then, the overall daily impressions and clicks have drastically dropped but my CPC and CTR have not changed. So far I don't think enough time has passed to say whether or not this was a good idea but... I'm curious to hear year take on the following related to google ads campaigns: 1. How many keywords do you typically set up per ad group? 2. How often are you changing your key words? Landing page? 3. How often are you adding irrelevant search terms to your negative key word list? 4. When/how do you determine that it's time to make changes to your landing page for optimization? 5. How often do you make changes to your landing pages? If major changes are made, how much time to you give it to determine whether or not the changes worked? I know they're very particular questions but I find them very relevant to running a google ads campaign and I'm curious to hear how you all manage these things!

@Alistair St Pierre Really appreciate your input - sounds like you're giving your campaigns a good amount of time to adjust once changes are made. When bringing on new clients, are you making it clear that may take over month to start seeing results? I find most business owners are looking for a fast or near instant solution. They often don't like hearing that these things take time to cultivate

@Cameron Walker Thank you tons Cam!
SMMA Owners What do you do?
I want to know what do you do all day? When you aren’t working on your client’s stuff what do you do? What do you use your time for? Especially now in August where more decision makers are on holiday so there is almost no point to outreach, what do you do to further grow your business?

Lots of outbound. Building lead lists, doing out reach. Looking over current campaigns to see how they can be improved. There's usually not enough time in the day to do it all!
Review ads!
So actually I have this client and ran this ads for about 14 days around 900 spent and got 12 leads (remodeling) ... And according to their sales team almost all the leads are genuine and interested but they are not able to sign any projects... And at last they are blaming my service that it doesn't work and they just left me in middleway and am so depressed now (no confidence to start again)

Hey Kunj, the first 2/3rds of your post sound like a success to me! As marketers it isn't our responsibility to close the leads and believing that 100% of the leads are closable and ready to buy is simply unrealistic. It sounds like you're on the right path with these results - just need to find another good client that can appreciate it. “It's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward” - Rocky B.
Landing Page Review
Hi Service Delivery Fam, I need your help! Soo, I don't usually like sharing niches or landing page details but this is a relatively new niche for us and the landing page isn't performing to our liking. For some context, we're running google ads to this page and are getting good metrics on the ads (<$1 CPC and >10% CTR on a $33/day budget). We've been running the campaign for 2 weeks and so far conversion rate has been underwhelming to say the least. Your thoughts and feedback are much appreciated! https://andisangels-homecare.com/

@Cameron Walker Thank you SO MUCH - lots of great feedback here! I definitely have my work cut out for me tonight. Seems like I'm attempting to provide way more information than is necessary.

Hey there! I used sell SaaS to companies in person. If I could give you any pointers it'd be: 1. Dress for the occasion - first impressions matter when it comes to building trust 2. Have a clear agenda - this is for both in-person and virtual meetings but nothing is more awkward than sitting in a room with a prospect and not knowing where to go or what to do. 3. Ask questions and listen - if they're letting you into their work space or taking the time to meet with you in person, it means they're serious about their business and looking for ways to improve. Make sure you have and idea of questions you can ask to learn more about the business and how you can help before pitching. 4. Relax and have fun - meeting in person is actually really fun, you'll see that other business owners are just humans too and looking to grow. It's ok to be human and chat about local events to break the ice. Hope this helps. Good luck!
