Curriculum Discussion
Hi! I would love to hear about the various curriculums people are using? We currently use Orange/Amazing Kids but we have gotten feedback from volunteers and families that they would like to see more scripture focused lessons. Which has me leaning towards The Gospel Project. Which then lead into Hiya, Paper Giants, The Park - and now my brain is overloaded lol! I do love all things curriculum and could discuss for hours!

Kids Ministry Cirriculum
Okay, new to all of this. We are wanting to look for new kids ministry curriculum. The one we have isn’t very fun for the kids. It’s too much reading and not enough stimulated for them. We are also a smaller church with a small budget but we only have at most 17 kids in kids ministry and a handful of toddlers in nursery. Soooo looking to find options and way to make our kids side of our ministry work better. So what’s your favorite curriculum and how well does it engage with the kids? Do the kids get involved? Help!

Welcome to the Kids Ministry Circle Community!
START HERE! 👋Hello! I am so glad you are here. This is a growing community filled with Kids Ministry leaders from around the world looking to build community with other leaders and continue to learn & grow and they love and serve their local church. We have TWO active groups inside this community: ➡️VBS Cohort 2026 ➡️Spring Cohort 2026 ➡️Premium Members: Kids Ministry Leader Roundtable ($25/month) If you are an active participant in these groups, you should have access to the corresponding course in the course tab. If you have not been given access, reach out and I can help you! 📣What is the Community chat for? 1️⃣ Questions! Working on a project or stuck with a problem? Ask away! 2️⃣ Encouraging Stories! Is God moving in your ministry and through your volunteers, we want to hear it. 3️⃣ Prayer Requests! Big event coming up? Share it so we can all be praying for you & your ministry. 📣What is the community chat NOT for? 1️⃣ Venting. While we want this to be a place to be encouraged & equipped, this is not the space to vent about your senior pastor or a frustrated volunteer. 2️⃣ Promoting your resources and/or materials. I do my absolute best to share the best resources for all Kids Ministry leaders. You can comment on a post to share a resource, but please no promotion posts. Did you create a resource that you would like to share--send it to me! We are cheering you on!
Volunteer Training
Last week in our Kids Ministry Circle Roundtable call, we talked about rhythms around volunteer training. Fall is around the corner and you may be working through your 2026-2027 Volunteer training calendar. So, let's take a poll! How often do you train your volunteers? Bonus question to answer in the chat...are your rhythms working? PS: If you are a member in the Kids Ministry Circle Roundtable, I just dropped a deep dive video explaining my 4-part Volunteer Training Strategy into your specific classroom!

Fun Training Ideas
I’m hosting my first training in my new position and while there is a lot of information to go over, I also want to make it fun and engaging! One idea I had was to do a Kahoot quiz with some of the policies we need to review. What fun things do you did in your trainings that volunteers enjoy? Have any ice breakers that are crowd favorite?
