Kids Ministry Curriculum Review
Where is the info on curriculum for kids ministry. I know we talked about a bunch of different ones. I am reviewing curriculum and want to know what people think is best. Why they like certain ones and why they don't. Thanks!

Hi Jina, if you look up Kids Ministry Circle on youtube there are a few good curriculum deep dive videos, but I am missing HYFI & Brite. Are you looking at a top 2 or 3?

Volunteer Appreciation?
Any ideas for Volunteer Appreciation gifts for VBS helpers that are not food/drink? Thanks!

Brittany was talking about appreciation ideas on Instagram the last few days! Here are some ideas that are not food related: -group photo picture and a gift card (snap a pic on the first day during huddle) -Bubbles with a gift card -individual awards (loudest singer, most organized, silliest small group leader...etc) -socks with the VBS logo on it
Staffing Question!
Hey everyone! If you have multiple staff members on your Kids or Family Ministry team, I'd love to hear how your roles are structured. Right now, our team is organized by ministry area (PreK, Elementary, and Family Experience), but I'm exploring whether that's the most effective setup. How is your team divided up? Do staff members oversee specific age groups, focus areas, or responsibilities? I'd love to hear what has worked well for your church and any insights you've gained along the way. 😊

When I was working at a larger church, I served as the Kids Director and then I had a full time Kids Associate. We leaned into our gifting and lead 0-5th grade. I could see a team running the entire kids ministry and still needing a specialized person in Family Experience.
Mobile Kids Ministry
Hey all! I have been serving in Kids ministry for the last 5 years and we just recently moved from being in a permanent building to renting our local high school. We set up and tear down each week. We are 9 weeks in and I am a little concerned with burnout for my kids team. I try to make sure I am touching base with them often and checking in. I also am creating more opportunity for them to be in service over serving since we now only have 1 church service through the summer months. What tools and practices have worked well for you as kids min leaders to care for your team and continue to pour into them well?

Hey Katie! Yay to being set up and tear down. We have one service and our volunteers only serve once a month so they have plenty of time to get into service. As far as caring for the team, one thing we implemented is asking our set up and tear down team to help stack desks and put the desks back. I do a lot of checking in and a lot of jumping in to help. In our huddle time, I try to celebrate their hard work and encourage them a ton. Also, don't underestimate the power of a donut Sunday!
