Monday Question of the Week!
Hello! There are a lots of new friends in this space--welcome! We have been talking a ton about Promotion Sunday & grade transitions these past couple weeks and this week's podcast is with Sean Sweet talking all about Preteen Ministry & Promotion Sunday! Let's chat! What are you doing for Promotion Sunday? In our church, one thing we are doing is hosting a breakfast before service for all incoming student ministry families.

@Courtney Switzer that is SO cute! What a creative idea with the Junior Mints!
Easter Challenge
Hi Lauren!! Last week, you mentioned sending a challenge out to your families, reciting the Gospel Story! How did that go? Would you still be willing to share the challenge you sent to parents and also the motions to the Gospel Story for Preschool and Elementary? Thank you so much!

Yes! I challenged all of our families to memorize the GOSPEL acronym. It didn't go as well as I hoped it would. I think my communication needed to be stronger and I needed to talk about it more with the kids and not necessarily with just the parents. A lot of kids memorized it, but the "receive the reward" for the challenge didn't go as I planned.
Happy Monday!
Last week in the Spring Cohort, we talked about Volunteer Training events! I am curious, what are your rhythms for training your volunteers? Annual, Quarterly, Monthly, Weekly? Let's talk about it!

@Jennifer Stenson I love the idea of coming together quarterly and share a meal and learn. What a great picture of a team!
New here
Hello, I am new here and have been following along with emails from here and I literally brand new at kids ministry. My heart is for it and I’m not fully into it as things happened and I had to step back but I wanna prepare myself for whenever that comes. I also homeschool my 2 boys so I’m daily doing a ministry through motherhood…. Sooo how do you start a middle school aged curriculum “teaching” that’ll stick? How do you make a grand ministry when the funding isn’t there? We are a small church but majority of our congregation is like 20-25 kids…. We have nursery age and then 1-5th grade we don’t have any others as we don’t have many kids that age yet but are about to. I def wish I was close to come to the summit butttt what classes are best to help a newbie person who knows Gods calling is kid ministry etc. ???

Hi Jenny! Thanks for being here. It sounds like you are doing the right things with the right intentions. Sometimes faithfulness looks like serving those right in front of you and walking together through the Bible. You may not need a grand curriculum--you might just need a Bible reading plan and a place to meet. Some things I would check out are Bible Recap for Kids/Teens. Preteen Ministry HQ has a ton of resources for the middle grade ages Keep doing what you are doing. Listen to free podcasts and jump into masterclasses if you can!
Week 6 Video
Hey Guys, am I missing the Week 6 video? I can't seem to locate it. Thanks!
