Welcome to the Kids Ministry Circle Community!
START HERE! πŸ‘‹Hello! I am so glad you are here. This is a growing community filled with Kids Ministry leaders from around the world looking to build community with other leaders and continue to learn & grow and they love and serve their local church. We have TWO active groups inside this community: ➑️VBS Cohort 2026 ➑️Spring Cohort 2026 ➑️Premium Members: Kids Ministry Leader Roundtable ($25/month) If you are an active participant in these groups, you should have access to the corresponding course in the course tab. If you have not been given access, reach out and I can help you! πŸ“£What is the Community chat for? 1️⃣ Questions! Working on a project or stuck with a problem? Ask away! 2️⃣ Encouraging Stories! Is God moving in your ministry and through your volunteers, we want to hear it. 3️⃣ Prayer Requests! Big event coming up? Share it so we can all be praying for you & your ministry. πŸ“£What is the community chat NOT for? 1️⃣ Venting. While we want this to be a place to be encouraged & equipped, this is not the space to vent about your senior pastor or a frustrated volunteer. 2️⃣ Promoting your resources and/or materials. I do my absolute best to share the best resources for all Kids Ministry leaders. You can comment on a post to share a resource, but please no promotion posts. Did you create a resource that you would like to share--send it to me! We are cheering you on!
Volunteer Training
Last week in our Kids Ministry Circle Roundtable call, we talked about rhythms around volunteer training. Fall is around the corner and you may be working through your 2026-2027 Volunteer training calendar. So, let's take a poll! How often do you train your volunteers? Bonus question to answer in the chat...are your rhythms working? PS: If you are a member in the Kids Ministry Circle Roundtable, I just dropped a deep dive video explaining my 4-part Volunteer Training Strategy into your specific classroom!

Mobile Kids Ministry
Hey all! I have been serving in Kids ministry for the last 5 years and we just recently moved from being in a permanent building to renting our local high school. We set up and tear down each week. We are 9 weeks in and I am a little concerned with burnout for my kids team. I try to make sure I am touching base with them often and checking in. I also am creating more opportunity for them to be in service over serving since we now only have 1 church service through the summer months. What tools and practices have worked well for you as kids min leaders to care for your team and continue to pour into them well?
New Family Check-In's
Hi Everyone, I would like to hear how you all do your new family check in process. We are a small church, we have two regualr family check-in I-Pads and one i-Pad for new families. Sometime it takes 15 minutes to get them all entered into Planning Center depending on how many members of the household you have to enter. When there is another new family waiting in line it makes it tough to get them checked in quickly and show them to their rooms. We have one lead that helps check in new families by collecting and imputting them in the system, we have one volunteer who helps with regular check in's. I know for bigger churches it is easier but would still love to hear ideas. For those with smaller churches how to do manage this? Thank you for your help.
Staffing Question!
Hey everyone! If you have multiple staff members on your Kids or Family Ministry team, I'd love to hear how your roles are structured. Right now, our team is organized by ministry area (PreK, Elementary, and Family Experience), but I'm exploring whether that's the most effective setup. How is your team divided up? Do staff members oversee specific age groups, focus areas, or responsibilities? I'd love to hear what has worked well for your church and any insights you've gained along the way. 😊
