Amazon Ad Optimizations You Should Be Doing
If it's been more than two weeks, it might be time for a quick audit.
Amazon Ads can be a powerful way to generate book sales, but they can also eat into your profits if left unchecked. Spending just 15–30 minutes every couple of weeks reviewing your campaigns can make a big difference.
Here are 3 things I recommend checking:
✅ 1. Review High-Spend, Low-Converting Keywords
Impressions are great, but sales are what matter.
Look for keywords that are generating clicks and spending money without producing conversions.
For those keywords, consider:
• Lowering your bid
• Pausing the keyword
• Moving your budget to better-performing terms
✅ 2. Adjust Campaign Budgets
Have a campaign that's consistently producing sales?
Consider increasing the daily budget to give Amazon more opportunities to show your ad. Scaling winners is often more effective than constantly creating new campaigns.
✅ 3. Set Up Negative Keywords
Your Search Terms Report is full of valuable insights.
If you notice search terms that:• Aren't relevant to your book• Generate lots of clicks but no sales
Add them as negative keywords so Amazon stops showing your ad for those searches and wasting your budget.
💬 How often do you optimize your Amazon Ads?
Every week? Every two weeks? Only when sales drop?
