If you're planning to publish your own book, these are three tools that have become part of my workflow. Each one solves a different problem and can save you a lot of time.
1️⃣ Publisher Rocket
This is one of the most valuable tools I own. I use it throughout the entire publishing process—not just at the beginning. It helps me:
- Research profitable book ideas
- Find relevant Amazon keywords
- Choose categories
- Identify backend keywords
- Research keywords for Amazon Ads
If you're serious about publishing on Amazon, this is a tool you'll use again and again.
2️⃣ Atticus
Formatting your first book can feel intimidating, but Atticus makes it much more approachable.
It's beginner-friendly, creates professional-looking interiors, and makes it possible to format your own book without hiring someone else.
It's important to know its limitations, though. If you're creating a highly graphic book, workbook with complex layouts, or something that requires a lot of custom design, you'll probably want different software. But for most standard high-content books, Atticus does an excellent job.
3️⃣ Grammarly
No matter how you write your book—yourself, with a ghostwriter, or using AI—there's always a messy middle.
Grammar mistakes, awkward wording, repeated phrases, and punctuation issues happen to everyone. Grammarly helps clean all of that up before your manuscript reaches readers.
It's one of those tools that quietly improves the quality of your work.
