I want to tell you a little bit about why I built The Practice the way I did. ๐ฟ
I've been practicing yoga for over 16 years. I honestly don't even remember exactly when I started. It just became part of my life at some point and never left. Over the years, I've taken all kinds of different class styles, but I always come back to Vinyasa. I love the variety and flow. Breath-to-movement is my jam. I love the energy. And honestly? I love when a class just takes over and tells me what to do. Sometimes I just want to show up and not have to think. Just move my body and trust the process.
When I started teaching in person, I was anchored to Iron Yoga - a class that incorporates weights - and I absolutely loved it. But I always craved that balance. The high-energy classes without weights. The low-energy classes focused on recovery, breathwork, and turning inward. The general flow that just feels good and hits everything.
So when I started teaching online, I built a weekly structure around that variety. We'd start with foundations, move into flow, add some cardio elements for something high-energy and fun, and then layer in Iron Yoga with weights. And we'd sprinkle in gentle classes based on the schedule or just based on how we were all feeling that week. My students and I absolutely loved it. We still had a clear progression - we knew where we were headed - but there was always something fresh and exciting to look forward to.
I also explored a completely different offering called Morning Movement & Meditation. I offered it live every single weekday at 6:30 am for about 6 months straight. There was something really special about knowing that you were going to wake up and do yoga. That consistency. That anchor in your morning. It gave so many of us a reason to get up and show up for ourselves before the day took over.
I can't offer daily live classes right now, but that is absolutely the vision. More variety. More consistency. Eventually, some form of movement available every single day, even if it's just five minutes.
That's The Practice. That's why it's structured the way it is. And that's the energy I'm bringing to this community every single week. ๐
If that sounds like your kind of place, come join us! The founding member rate of $5/month ends this Friday. ๐
