Monday Challenge: Are You the Bottleneck?
The Problem:
How many decisions still "have" to come THROUGH you?
How many problems could your team/family/friends solve without you—but don't?
How many times have you said: "Just bring it to me."
Then felt like you have so much to do?
The Truth:
If everything requires your approval, you're not leading.
You're becoming the bottleneck.
The Challenge:
Identify one recurring decision, task, or problem that consistently lands on your plate but DOSN'T actually NEED TO.
Don't delegate it yet. First, identify it.
Then ask yourself: "Why does this still require me?"
Accountability:
Comment with: The recuring decision is [recurring decision]. Still comes to me because [why]
Keep it brief.
Sometimes leadership does require you to make a lot of decisions repetitively, but don't let it be your default.
*Hint* If you find yourself struggling to find something recurring regularly, instead consider the small decisions that are few and far between that you choose to make but someone else could make them.
