Attempting to Float
Something I’ve really been working on lately is floating and surfing from the top instead of forcing pressure. Rather than trying to glue myself to one position, I’m staying light, mobile, and reactive—letting movement create openings instead of muscling them. What I’m noticing: • Fewer scrambles I don’t want • Less energy wasted • Better timing on transitions • More control without feeling heavy I’m still far from perfect. There are moments I mistime it, lose balance, or get caught trying to be too loose. But that’s the process. Jiu-jitsu has layers, and this one has been huge for me—learning when to float, when to surf, and when to drop pressure. Curious—do you prefer heavy pressure on top, or a lighter, more mobile style? 🥋👇

Arm Bar Everything with Zac Sway 🥋🔥 Zac Sway is a blue belt with five years on the mats and one obsession: the armbar. Over years of consistent training and four years of active competition, he’s developed a knack for seeing armbar opportunities from everywhere—standing, scrambling, on top, off his back, and in the chaos most people miss. This instructional isn’t about claiming to be the best in the world. It’s about sharing what’s worked in real rounds, real tournaments, and real pressure. Arm Bar Everything breaks down Zac’s personal armbar attack system—simple, repeatable setups from different positions that chain together and flow naturally as the roll unfolds. These are the armbars Zac hunts, trusts, and finishes with—high-percentage attacks built for everyday grapplers who want something practical, not flashy. Whether you’re a newer blue belt or a seasoned practitioner looking to sharpen your submission awareness, this series will help you start seeing arms the way Zac does… everywhere. Train smart. Attack often. Arm bar everything. 💥🦾

🧱 SKILL DEVELOPMENT
This is where you stop being random and start being dangerous. Most people train jiu jitsu for years without a plan. This section fixes that. The goal here is to help you understand positions, build confidence, and develop an A-game you can rely on under pressure. ⸻ 📍 POSITIONAL LABS We break jiu jitsu down by position, not chaos. Use the correct thread for what you’re working on: • Guard • Passing • Side Control • Mount • Back Control • Takedowns Post questions, clips, or scenarios from that position only. This keeps feedback focused and useful. Example posts: • “I keep getting passed from half guard — what am I missing?” • “What’s the safest option from side control against bigger people?” ⸻ 🧩 GAME PLANS (BUILD YOUR A-GAME) This is where you develop your style. Instead of trying everything, start identifying: • Your go-to sweep • Your favorite pass • Your best control position • Your highest-percentage submission Post what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’re trying to build. We’ll help you connect the dots. ⸻ How to use this section best: ✔ Pick one position to focus on at a time ✔ Pair it with the Technique of the Week ✔ Test it during live rounds ✔ Refine it here Jiu jitsu rewards clarity. Build a game that fits you 🥋🔥
