Remember when everyone told us attention spans were shrinking and videos had to be 15 seconds long? 🤔 Instagram is testing a new feature that would allow select creators to publish longer, horizontal videos. Short-form video is great for getting discovered. But longer videos give you the opportunity to teach, demonstrate your expertise, build trust, and help people decide whether they want to work with you. Think about what this could mean for founders and entrepreneurs? You could create one educational video, publish the full version on YouTube AND Instagram, and use short clips to drive people to it. As a YouTube girlie myself, I'm super excited about this. That's a much smarter use of your time than constantly creating new content for every platform. Now, before you run off and start recording 90-minute videos, this is still a test. And let's not forget Instagram already tried long-form video with IGTV. Don't overhaul your marketing strategy every time a platform announces something new. But pay attention to where things are heading.
