This week I moved to a different apartment.
It was under construction for a long time (over 2 years)
And we finally got the chance to move in.
The thing was…we decided to move all the stuff gradually over a week
Because this apartment is near our old place, and we didn’t want to speedrun the moving process in a day or two.
So, this week when I was moving out from my old apartment…
I noticed that I couldn’t stay on my goals.
The thing was…my old apartment was a mess (literally because every closet was emptied and the items were placed on the floor)
There was noise everywhere.
Helpers were going back and forth.
And the place felt like a messy dorm room.
I just needed peace and silence.
And I couldn’t get myself to do anything at all.
My brain went blank when I thought about ideas.
All I did was take client calls, but I still noticed I was delivering like I used to.
And now that I’m writing this in a peaceful environment where a lot of the items have been put into their places and my room’s complete…
I can feel the high-performance mode being activated.
And my ruthless self is gradually coming back.
This made me realize how important it is to have an environment that allows you to lock in on autopilot.
An environment that allows you to think clearly.
An environment that has everything in one place.
An environment that really brings out the highest level of entrepreneur from within you.
Most of us think about every other factor to improve our business…
But they neglect the one thing where they actually run their business from: their workspace.
This could be your desk, your setup, or your complete room.
If you have children crying, construction going on, or have phones constantly going off.
Or if your desk is cluttered and there are items, plates, and leftover food packets on it.
Or if your entire room is messy and your bed isn’t made.
Sorry to say, but you can’t function with 100% capacity.
You’re limited to utilizing only 40-50% of your potential.
Trust me. I’ve lived both extremes. And it 100% affects your productivity.
Because our brain piles up these unchecked items in layers.
And it secretly consumes all the mental bandwidth.
Which in turn impacts our business.
I thought it was cliche that we need to have a proper environment.
But now that I saw the major contrast within a week…my belief for environment is now solidified.
Now I can say with confidence that...
All of your client’s issues, lead issues, delivery issues aren’t because you lack knowledge.
It’s because your environment is against you.
If you still think it doesn’t work, try it out yourself.
Tidy up your environment. Reinforce silence where you work.
And thank me later ;)
