There is an old Zen saying:
“Only the one who drinks the water knows whether it is warm or cold.”
During my breathing practice today, I had a direct experience of what these words truly mean.
Some insights cannot be found in books or fully conveyed through someone else’s words. They can only be discovered through quiet awareness and personal experience.
There is no need to chase after or hold on to any particular state. Simply remain open and observe each breath and every sensation as they arise, change, and dissolve in their own way.
Over time, understanding moves beyond the level of thought. It gently settles into our way of living and becomes part of who we are. ❤️🙏
