Sometimes you win. Sometimes you learn. This weekend I was at a coaching course. To be honest, I didn’t learn that much in terms of new content —but the exchange with other coaches was really valuable and nice. So in the end, it was still a positive experience. As part of the course (during the cup finals), we were asked to analyze games and discuss what we would have done differently. But honestly, I find that difficult…How can I say what I would do differently if I’m not coaching that team and don’t know their current context? Were you able to implement what you trained this week in your game ?

This weekend showed again how important 7m shots are. Two cup Final4 were decided from the line in semi-finals. In our recent webinar, Julian Rux also mentioned that SC Magdeburg have converted relatively few 7m shots this season. What’s your win or learning when it comes to 7m situations?

We had a really good session with Julian Rux 🙌 And somehow, it raised more interesting questions than answers 🤪 — which is exactly what we want here. And at one point it felt like he predicted Magdeburg losing a game on 7m 😅 But actually, it just shows how powerful data can be when you understand patterns.
