🔁 WIN OR LEARN MONDAY 🧠
Sometimes you win. Sometimes you learn. This weekend: Did you learn more from a mistake — or from something that worked really well?

Last week, with help from @Andreas Czech, I got remembered how effective constraints can be in a training session, to guide the team in the direction you want them to play. (CLA- Constraints led approach) As well it reminded me to rewatch the Rob Gray Webinar about this topic as soon as possible.
Thursday question
I recently heard this in a podcast and it really stuck with me: “Being a coach is easy. Being a good coach is hard.” Looking back… 👉 What part of coaching did you think would be easier? 👉 Or what still surprises you today — something you didn’t expect at all

@Tatjana Sinobad In what way did you experience blame or something similar?

@Tatjana Sinobad you are right, I think this happens everywhere. There is a study in football, that a change in the coaching position for bad results, doesn`t bring improvement, as long as the coach has not lost the trust of the players.
Applying neuroscience to coaching
I was lucky enough to hear a talk from neurologist Dr. Wolfgang Lalouschek about the structure of the human brain in regards to happiness, stress, dopamine, goal setting and achievement and how all of that can be useful for humans, organizations and leadership. One of his main insights/theses showed that a (healthy) dopamine release works in three steps: 1) Goal formulation and the desire for achievement 2) The efforts themselves to work towards that goal 3) The (immediate) experience of success/process made Such insights - as well as the single-tasking anatomy of the brain or reasons for stress - can be very much applied to player motivation, practice structure and leadership/coaching, at least in my opinion. Do some of you have experience with neuroscience/psychology in coaching? Hoping for a great discussion :)

@Timo Issing Thanks. If you don´t mind pass it to me and I put it in the classroom, so everybody can watch it.

I haven't had any experience with it... but am really interested in it. Hopefully soon when you send me the video ;) This is a topic where I wish I knew more about, but somehow I never go deeper in the subject.
Win or learn Monday again 🧠
What were your experiences last week or over the weekend? For me, this one was a painful lesson. The actual mistake happened quite some time ago – but last week it really hit me. 👇

I was reminded once again how important it is to work on our mistakes, especially during times of success. Because sooner or later, they catch up with you. When you’re winning, it’s difficult to highlight weaknesses. It requires confrontation, extra work, and often uncomfortable conversations. Especially when training time is limited and you’re not working with professionals, it’s tempting to simply ride the wave of success. But when injuries occur or results start to dip, the ghosts of the past come back. And suddenly you’re surprised by problems that were actually there all along.

@Patrick Schadl nice to hear that she performed that good!! 👍 it's a good reminder that we always should give clarity to the players of her role and the ideas, even if we think they know 100% what they should do.
