Young keepers

The last few weeks have been tough. My sons finding it difficult to put everything we do training ( over the green) into matches he will come out dive at feet. Dive either side to make a save but transferring that into matches isn't happening he's only 8 but when a team is loosing with big score lines every week my worry is it's always the gk that gets looked at and everything we practice goes out the window when he gets on the pitch, ive been asked not to coach from behind the goal which I respect I just dont like seeing him fail.

Does it get better parents? He has a 1 2 1 every other week the dark evenings done help but what more can I do? Any advise?
