No Goalie Wars this year 😞

Unfortunately, after so many years, the organizers of the old "La Batalla de Soloporteros", later "La Batalla de FutbolEmotion", have decided not to run the event this year. It's a real shame, as it had become something I looked forward to every summer, especially after taking part with my son last year. It was a great experience for both of us.

On the bright side, they've organized a different event this weekend, although it's only for youth players. I've signed my son up, and a few of his teammates will be going too. Instead of goalkeeper challenges, it's made up of outfield player skill stations: passing challenges, shooting accuracy, dribbling, controlling balls fired from a ball machine, shot power... It actually looks like a lot of fun, and I'm sure the kids will enjoy it.

Hopefully they'll have a great time this weekend, and even more importantly, I hope the Goalie Wars event returns next year. It would be a shame to lose such a unique event for goalkeepers, there are others around the country but they are far from us.
