I Injured my knee while playing May ‘24. Hospital refused to scan me, and diagnosed MCL injury. I had physio and sports massage for 9 months, and then the physio cleared me to play again. I went back and played 3 games before my knee didn’t feel right again. Paid for a private MRI and was diagnosed with complex meniscus tears and a redundant ACL. I’ve been waiting for surgery since, was told I was on the list, had my preop done, and just needed to wait for a date, to then find out today that I’m not on any surgery list and now need another initial consultation. I’m so angry. It’s going to be months now before I receive an operation date, and then months after that for recovery. At my age, it looks like this may be the end of my playing.
Has anyone had this surgery at an older age? If so, how did it go, what was recovery time and did you play again?
Thanks in advance!!
