I'm not trying to escape work.
Sure some days I don't want to engage in the work in front of me.
But if that is the predominant relationship to work we either need to reevaluate the work we are doing or the attitude about the work.
We were "created for good works in Christ Jesus"
Work should be fulfilling.
"To do the will of my father is my bread" Paraphrased but thats what Jesus said.
I used to think in terms of just trying to make enough money so I don't have to work.
And yes I think that is still a great goal. To not have to work but it doesn't stop there.
If you have a business that provides for you but it's not all that fulfilling thats a great place to be.
Now you have freedom to discover more of your purpose.
But if we think sitting on the beach all day is the end all be all we have missed it.
Theres so much juice on doing the thing you were created for.
This week our pastor actually preached on this.
He pointed out that God created the work before he ever created you.
So when he created you he put everything you need to accomplish the work.
This is why I love all those personality tests, enneagram, etc...
And life coaching exercises that cause you to reflect and identify your design and calling.
