Reminder to make one step at a time
I was just reminded by a community leader in another group I’m a part of that no everything on a certain project has to be done all at once. We have a super power with ADHD brains to hyper focus and get things done at an incredible speed with incredible results 😅 But also, when scaling something, like a business😉, we don’t have to have everything in place AT THE LAUNCH. It can and will come incrementally, we will see our systems grow, and we will see ourselves grow. So what’s that thing you want to start doing but don’t feel ready to start yet? Post it below 👇 I’ll start: Starting my own Skool community for unicyclists! Boom! 😅 and building my business website to optimize AEO (just learned about this lol)

Focused Goals, Flexible Approaches
Sustainable High Performance isn't about living a rigid structure that can't be changed. I used to set myself up by setting ambitious and challenging goals and then being overly rigid in my approach. I used to tell myself this is the only way to achieve my goal and I need to schedule everything and stick to it, otherwise I'll never make it. My ADD brain needs structure to be able to thrive, but it doesn't always come easily. So my response was to go overkill on the scheduling. And I left no room for flexibility. And when I inevitably couldn't keep up with my schedule, I beat myself up for it. It lead to frustration and even burning out. As we all know, we can schedule all we want (and don't get me wrong, I want you to), life will happen to us, whether we like it or not. For example this morning I was about to eat breakfast and leave to go to the gym. I had to be back by 7am because it's my turn to bring my daughter to daycare. But right as I was about to get ready, my daughter woke up because she was hungry. My wife was still sleeping so I decided to check out what was wrong and I bottle fed her. By doing so I had missed my window to go to the gym and be back in time to bring my daughter to daycare. Now I had 2 choices: 1) I could beat myself up for missing the window and skip the workout all together. That's going to leave me frustrated and not feeling like my best self. 2) I could look at the rest of my day and see where I can shift things around to create another window for my workout. After bringing my daughter to daycare, I have to work in my landscaping business and in the late afternoon I was going to spend a couple hours working here on Skool. So I decided to stay home until it's time to bring my little one to daycare, work on Skool now instead of this afternoon and get my workout in when I finish my work in my landscaping business. At the end of the day I will have hit all my targets and I will feel good about myself and the day, even though I had to shuffle my schedule around.
