✋ The "just touch it" rule for habits that actually stick
I have a rule I live by for any habit I'm trying to build. 👉 Just touch it. 🎹 Want to play piano every day? Touch the piano. Hands on the keys. That counts. If you want to play for an hour after that, great. If you want to walk away after five seconds, also great. 🧘 Want to meditate? Sit on the cushion. Ass down. That counts. Get up immediately if you want to. 🤸 Want to move your body every morning? Stand up and stretch your arms over your head. Done. Most people fail at habits because they set the bar at "do the full thing well, every time." That bar is high enough that any rough day breaks the streak. And once the streak breaks, the habit dies. The bar that builds habits is "show up at all." A 10-second yoga flow is infinitely more valuable than a 30-minute flow you skipped because you didn't have time. 🔥 The streak creates the identity. 🔥 The identity creates the consistency. 🔥 The consistency creates the actual results. Touch it. Every day. Even if all you do is touch it. 💬 What's one habit you keep dropping because you set the bar too high? Drop it in the comments and let's set a "just touch it" version.

Welcome to me. Plus, celebrity podcast guest.
Hey All. I joined in November but haven't been very active, til NOW! I joined from another community upon the man/myth/legend @Brian Diep's insistence, and just released a podcast w/another legend you may know, @Bill Widmer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaIV7a2cUPk&t=1683s (also on audio but here you can see our pretty faces). My podcast is about recovery, and uncovering my ADHD has been such a big part of that I can't stop doing episodes on it. My family thought I was a crazy jerk my whole life (especially for being chronically late) so I like to joke they all owe me/us and apology (and I'm now borderline punctual!). I'm out to educate the world and eradicate the stigma behind addiction and ADHD. DM me if interested in being a guest.
