When the fear of failure becomes self fulfilling amd how to interupt that cycle
There is no worse feeling than knowing your own value but being so paralyzed in such fear of failure that you can't even share your offer with others to help them grow and prosper or better their lives.
Whether you have a niche skill-set, or hobby, whatever your wisdom and passion is, you've traveled the rocky road already and could offer new comers a smoother path, but how? How, when you are so paralyzed by fear and by the impossible idea of perfectionism that you just can't seem to ever attain? The fear that says you won't ever be able to reach the audience you want to or get the response that you hope to attain?
The idea of failure has you stuck in a perpetual circle of writing and writing and erasing and writing again and erasing more until you can't even stand to look at the paper in front of you anymore without wanting to scream and shutdown entirely?
It sucks. There's no other way to express that feeling.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Nor should it!
You should be able to feel accomplished, valuable, and worthy regardless if you believe you have "succeeded" or "failed".
And really, as long as you have accomplished or learned ANYTHING, then you havent failed.
The trick to avoiding failure paralysis is to STOP SEEKING PERFECTION. You are not perfect and never will achieve perfect as a status. And that is ok. No one is perfect at anything. Thats the beauty of learning and sharing wisdom. There's always someone further ahead than you and there are always others further behind where you are now.
So sit down, breathe, think of what you are good at, write it in a few simple statements. Don't go in depth yet.
After you have identified your strengths, this is the most important step: just DO THE THING. Talk about it to at least one person or a camera with no one else ever to see it. Practice allowing yourself to speak from a place of passion and love. From a place of wanting to help others and remembering where you came from.
Its not an overnight mindset shift, but every day you practice letting go of the illusion of perfection, the closer you get to your true self and sharing you authentic value.
Its ok to not know everything. Its ok to always be learning. Its ok to admit you are a work in progress.
And if this thing you are passionate about doesn't keep your spark alive and you want to start over again somewhere else? That is ok too. You arent a failure you are work in progress and you, like everyone else always will be.
So, what is one thing you have been struggling to embrace? Lets talk about it. Share that passion and motivation with us here.
And if you see someone you can encourage here, please do so. We all need a reminder sometimes that we are a bada$$!
