New Face, Who Dis? (Rapport SOP)
Alrighty Focus Finder Fam! Here is me being accountable and doing some of my homework. Heads up I am wordy so consider yourself warned.
Homework? Well if you are newish, I won the 7 day leadership challenge and in doing so got 2 hours of coaching. The first hour was live streamed here and this is the homework from it.
To summarize it in case the video is down already, I am working on facing my mindset around sales and rejection. I have an offer but I am not offering it yet cause I have surgery in a week. To make myself feel more comfortable I am working on better establishing rapport and engagement in my Skool Community so when I launch my offer, I will feel less icky about it. Basically not treating it like a sell but a helpful offering to a friend.
So the challenge was to create a Standard Operating Procedure or SOP. It is based on what I have seen across skool communities and I am tagging a few people that are in here to give credit. I figured posting it in here would be a good potential resource for others / get me some feedback and maybe even some new people to test it on in my group 😉
SOP: Building Rapport with New Members in Unmuted Money
Step 1: Review Membership Questions
When a new member joins, note their answers to:
  1. One money win or one money struggle
  2. Comfort scale (1–5)
  3. Email address
Step 2: Send a Simple, Personal DM
Timing: Within 24 hours of them joining
Template (adapt based on answers I actually built out 7 other templates):
Hi [Name]! 👋 Welcome to Unmuted Money! Thanks for sharing that your [win/struggle] is [insert their response]. That’s such a real place to start.
I also saw you rated yourself a [#] on the comfort scale and I wanted to let you know that’s totally normal. Honestly, this group is all about practicing those money convos so they feel less awkward over time. 🌱
No pressure, but if you’d ever like to connect for a quick 15-minute chat so I can get to know you better, here’s my link: [insert link]. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
Step 3: Create a Public Welcome Post (Shout out )
Timing: Same day or next day after their DM
Draft Post:
👋 Everyone help me welcome @ [Member Name] to Unmuted Money!
Next steps for you:
  1. Say hi in the chat  even a small hello helps break the ice.
  2. Check out the pinned “Start Here” post to see how things flow.
  3. Join in wherever you feel comfortable no pressure to be perfect, just practice being unmuted. 💬
✨ (Optional Bonus if time allows: drop a short welcome video here.) (Shout out to )
Tag my regulars / leaderboard people to say hi (shout out to )
Bonus Step: Welcome Video Variations (30–45 sec max)
Rotate between these:
  1. Gentle Welcome“Hey [Name], welcome to Unmuted Money! This is a space where it’s safe to share wins, struggles, and everything in between. I’m so glad you’re here.”
  2. Confidence Nudge“Hi [Name]! You don’t have to be a pro at talking about money to be here none of us were. This group is for practice and support, not perfection.”
  3. Community Focus“Welcome to the group, [Name]! Unmuted Money is all about breaking the silence around money. Share when you’re ready, and we’ll be here to cheer you on.”
Step 5: Re-Engagement Procedure
Trigger: If they haven’t posted or engaged within 72 hours
Action: Send a gentle DM
Re-Engagement DM:
Hey [Name], just checking in. I noticed you haven’t had a chance to post yet in Unmuted Money. No rush sometimes it takes a little time to warm up. When you’re ready, you can just drop a quick hello in the chat. Even one sentence like “I’m here to practice talking about money” is a great start.
If words aren’t your thing there are some gif boards too you can join in on. [Link some options]
Glad to have you here, and no pressure to be perfect your pace is totally fine. I’m here for you!
Also shout out to for her systemization of engagement posts which go beyond the initial hello but helped inspire some of this.
