Day 21 - structured walk and Engagement
Pull count: 5 • Longest clean heel duration 1 min 25 • Highest reaction intensity (1–10) 2/10 • Obedience response latency (fast / ✔️moderate / slow) • Your energy state (✔️calm / rushed / drifting) Back at it today with our structured walks. Out the gate running! (Not literally we leave the house in a calm neutral state as not to bring excited energy into the walk with us 🤣) Maisy was great. Even after 2 days off of no “structured” walking (just loose leash mechanics) she was back on the heeling like she never left. I noticed again today her offering a lot more focus (even though I’m still slacking on a focus command) unprompted which really makes my heart so happy! One of my neighbors gave me some shit today for no real reason aside from the fact that I think he’s just bored at home alone and needs someone to try and pick a fight with, alas it is not I bud. I kept my energy calm and disengaged keeping Maisy neutral in the whole process. Proud moment on my part handle my emotions for me and for Maisys benefit. food drills tonight were good. Really working those positional commands again making sure we have a solid knowledge (middle, front, come around). Her come around looks a lot more clean, but our front could use some work. Good day over all! Great work Maisy proud of you 💪🏽🐕

Your Dog Training Story
Everyone has a back story as to how or why they wound up training their dogs, and in some cases, other peoples'! I'm curious to know your story: - what peaked your interest? Did you hava a difficult pet or were you inspired by something you saw? - who were your early dog training icons and how have you navigated your way to where you are now? - Who have you followed? Who are you still following? - Who or what makes you cringe when you look back? - What is the best piece of advice someone has given you or any words-of-wisdom that have always stuck with you? The best thing about this group is that there is never any judgement here - just honest sharing of experiences. Looking forward to hearing about your journey!!
