Day 346: Neutrality WINS
I'd had enough of Outlook crashing and many data dashboards taking 4000 years to load by around 2pm so I bundled Aster into the car and headed to the moors. I just wanted to give her a free run and enjoy the sun on our faces more than anything (I know, there was SUN!). But we also got to practise passing other dogs along the cycle track on the way back. We passed 2 dogs on lead that were both either barking as we passed or straining or both. Then a group of 3 off leash cocker spaniels whizzing around and barking. I'm SO proud of Aster, not a single bark, even when her body language cued her to. She overrode it and chose to look at me, ignoring them all ❤️👌 I can't lie, i felt smug as hell to be the one, finally, with the dog that WASN'T barking and making a fuss😎
The heavens then opened and we got soaked so that wiped the smug from my face as I took a punt and left my waterproof jacket in the car! We sheltered under a bridge for a while and was glad to have consciously locked in the feeling of the sun on my face 1 hr earlier 😂
Oh, i almost forgot. We also took the ball chucker out this morning and I played the "tease and finish" game you suggested in the call as she dropped the ball. We moved on into the next field and there was some improvement. I experimented with the retreive where i outed her onto the ground and clipped the ball into the thrower which mega puts her into drive. So I grabbed her collar and clipped the ball in and dragged it along the floor which worked soooo well, she retreived it way quicker the next time. I'm going to play with this and I'll film something tomorrow 👍🏻
