And this comes up almost every week.
Someone said they were frustrated because every client immediately asks their day rate.
And then negotiate down.
When we dug into it a bit, the real issue wasn’t pricing.
It was that the clients don’t understand what this person actually does- what the real value of the work actually was.
And honestly whey would they? When I looked at this persons website and talk to them all I see is a portfolio and a job title.
When you position yourself to solve a problem, people ask how it works first. Not how much it costs.
That’s a small shift, but it’s a big one.
