The Biggest Opportunity for Filmmakers Over the Next Two Years? Politics.
Election season means a LOT of video gets made — and most filmmakers have no idea how that work actually gets commissioned or where they fit into it. Tomorrow I’m going to break down the political advertising world from a production perspective. We’ll talk about who actually hires filmmakers, the agencies and organizations behind the campaigns, the kinds of content being produced, what makes political production different, and how you can start finding opportunities. I’ll also share some of my own experience producing political work and what I’ve learned along the way. Thursday at 10am PT. Link is in the calendar. See you there.

This Thursday: Your Logo Isn't Your Brand
OK then... what the hell is branding? We hear "brand" and immediately think logo, website, colors, maybe a positioning statement. But your brand is really what people say about you when you're not there. If I asked one of your clients, "Who's Sarah? What is she great at? What kind of work does she do? Why would I hire her?" Whatever they say is a pretty good indication of the brand you've already built. So this Thursday, we're going to actually work on it. We'll look at what your work, website, reel, LinkedIn, and clients currently say about you. Do they all tell the same story? Then we'll dig into what you want to be known for, what you're genuinely great at, and where that overlaps with what the market actually needs. Bring your website, reel, LinkedIn, or anything else you use to present yourself. We're going to do some real exercises together and see what we uncover. Thursday at 10AM PT No logo redesign required. 🙂
