Should Generals Have To Pass PT Standards?

Secretary of War (fuck I like how that sounds) Pete Hegseth just knife handed his entire general staff.

Get fit or get out.

WOW.

Finally. Leading by example seems like it’s only a mantra these days. Hegseth is bang on by calling out fat senior officers. You can’t expect a high standard of soldiering if leaders don’t set the example. The most basic level of leadership is showing up fit.

I’ve railed against our fat Army in Canada for years. It drove me crazy when guys like me were sweating our balls off fighting the Taliban but my senior leadership were getting fat at KAF and back home.

They expected us to stay fit and enforced the standard upon us. It felt like they were royalty. 🤴

I hope Canada is listening. This is coming for us too. The pendulum will swing and it’s going to be rough.

I’m a fitness absolutist.

Same standard for everyone regardless of age, sex or rank.
