Growing In The Puddles
Walking home after a light rain, our little one spotted a row of puddles ahead. Visions of muddy clothes, slippery falls, or a sneaky cold flash through our minds.
Unspoken decisions are washing through our minds. Do we helicopter parent, or do we let her have some fun?
Sure, concerns about germs or scraped knees were with us, but the simple act of letting her jump fosters creativity, emotional regulation and a love for the outdoors that structured play often misses.
We let her go. She had so much fun.
