YT Counting Shorts Views Differently - Thoughts?

Hey y'all, newer 'Tuber and just learned that shorts views will be counted differently moving forward. As far as I know this change just happened and it looks like they switched from "views" to "engaged views" under the engagement tab which was previously "watched" vs "swiped away".

Curious your thoughts on this as well as if anyone is strategizing to make changes to take advantage of this for bigger engagement?
