What are your goals?

What are your goals when it comes to YouTube? I know many have the 'become monetised' ones but do you have any others apart from that?

1) Mine are to get at least 1000 views per video

2) Try/learn something new in each video to improve

I'm only 8 videos in and I'm trying so hard to push myself to learn new things each video, whether its with post-production, filming, scripting etc, just to help me settle into the style of video I want to produce.

I'm surprised I've already managed to get over 1000 views on some of my videos already -I though it would take months to start getting more views. I honestly think it's the effort I put into trying to learn and improve. I've tried YouTube in the past and always tried to just pump out content quickly and looking back, I can see it was rubbish that nobody was interested in.

It was hard for me to realise that nobody cared about me - not in a mean way, but like, I'm not a celebrity and I'm not known - why would they care about my silly little life? I had to shift the focus to something they did care about. I always knew I needed to add value to get views, but I just didn't understand how I could do that and what I had to offer.
