Investments in your youtube business

At what stage do you start to invest in your youtube journey?

I'm asking as I'm really keen to move to a decent editing tool and thinking of Davinci Resolve.. but I'd need a new laptop for the spec. I also really could do with a better mic, a phone or camera upgrade and some lightning. All these things will make my life easier, rather then them being about better videos. BUT .. I just don't have the budget for these things yet.

What would you do? What would you invest in first?
