🎯 Responsibilities:
- Lead creation of FX including fire, smoke, water, destruction, and magical effects
- Collaborate with supervisors, leads, and other departments to integrate FX
- Develop procedural templates and reusable tools to improve workflows
- Define FX look and style through strong look development
- Mentor and provide feedback to FX artists
- Troubleshoot and optimize simulations
- Deliver work across multiple shots and sequences on schedule
- Contribute to R&D and stay current with industry techniques
🛠️ Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience as an FX Artist in VFX, film, games, or commercials
- At least 2 years of experience in a lead or mentoring role
- Advanced experience with Houdini
- Working knowledge of Maya and Nuke
- Strong understanding of FX simulations including fire, smoke, fluids, and destruction
- Experience building procedural setups and reusable tools
- Strong visual judgment and technical problem-solving skills
- Clear communication and collaboration skills
➕ Preferred Skills:
- Scripting experience with Python, VEX, or MEL
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity for real-time FX
- Experience working under tight deadlines in a studio environment
