Is copywriting dead?
Picture this…
About 2 days ago…
I took a field-trip to a graveyard
(no really)
swear to God
The trip was for my religious Sunday school actually.
And at about 11:10 A.M
My boys and I left in my friend’s Nissan Sedan…
It kinda sucked because
The car was fuller than 450 pound man on thanksgiving
But I was ok
I was sitting in the back on the right-hand side
I was only squished like a circus clown…that’s all
And that’s when…
my man in the front passenger seat said something absolutely outrageous…
So outrageous that that even The Great Stoic Philosopher HIMSELF…(Marcus Aurelius)… would be like…
“Dude… wtf”
The passenger seat dude said…
“Hey you guys wanna listen to youngboy?”
(A rapper who raps about gang violence)
I suggested “naw man listening to youngboy going to the grave is CRAZY”
After I said that everyone started laughing…
To me I thought it was obvious not to play his music
Y’know especially because we were driving to the Graveyard you know what I mean 😅
But everyone else thought that I was the famous comedian Dave Chappelle or something…
Anyway… let me get to the point of this story
And answer the big question…
“Is copywriting dead?”
So
We arrived at the graveyard…
We all parked our cars along the side of the road
It was a crazy sight to witness
About 20-25 cars pulled up (all dudes) and parked their cars
At this point I felt a very deep… almost primal feeling
Like I was in a tribe or something… and we were going to war
But at the same time…
It was as if we were playing GTA 5 Online
And I told all our boys to pull up to a spot somewhere…
But you know what’s crazy?
As everyone took a look at the graves…
Looking at the names and stuff…
And looking at how many years those people lived
“70 years old”
“50 years old”
“20 years old”😳
I found it pretty odd that…
…
…
No-body cried
Or even got emotional…
We all just took a moment to remeber
the rotting dead skeleton underneath the grave stone
Made a little prayer
And moved on…
But I know what your thinking…
“Where is this story going?“
“What’s the point of reading all this?”
“Is the guy in a cult or something?” (no btw)
Listen…
I looked at over 50+ graves that day…
And guess what?
No gravestone contained the phrase…
“Copywriting”
Engraved on it
Do you know what that means?
It means that copywriting…
is NOT DEAD!
You just haven’t outreached enough
So
Here’s what you need to do…
(When you’re confident enough to write good copy)

Get on IG
Start sending those DMs
Close a client
Change your life
Get to it

Not to be grim or anything but…
According to those gravestones…
You may have less time than you think
