How We Prevent Spam/Cold DM's in our Community + 2 Feature Requests
Receiving spam DM's on Skool SUCKS - so here's how we prevent it in our community.
• Step 1: We made a Cold DM'r Wall of Shame and pinned it 📌
This way, members can work together to report spammers and our admin team can delete people as soon as they're posted.
• Step 2: We added an agreement to our membership questions that says: "We have ZERO tolerance for spam. If you cold DM anyone in this group about your services you will be banned immediately."
And then the two multiple choice answers are: "I will not send any cold DM's" and "I don't understand."
We don't approve anyone who says "I don't understand."
• Step 3: We included a reminder of our policy in our intro class module.
See attached below for what that looks like 👇
Hope this helps you prevent spammers and cold DM'rs!
And remember: If you found this post helpful, give it a thumbs up 👍

P.S.
I have 2 feature request that I think would really help prevent more spam:
First:
When we click 'Ban User' I wish there was a pop up with a multiple choice input box asking for the reason for the ban so we can give them a reason for why they're being banned.
Example:
Spamming/Cold DM's
Inappropriate posts
Harassment
Membership expired
Other (text input)
This would help teach them a lesson and prevent them from spamming in other groups.
Because right now if they get banned they might not even realize it, or know why... and they'll probably just carry on their spammy behaviour in the next available community.
Second:
Skool could make it so if a person gets banned from more than 2 communities from spamming, their ability to DM gets shut off for a period of time.
