How I Transitioned From High Ticket Model to Membership
First of all I speak 4 languages and none of them well 😂, so apologies for my grammar, but I wanted to explain how I shifted from High Ticket to Membership this year.
I still do DFY events for 20k but I am getting really picky who I take as a client. Last year was a bit of a wake up call for me as people started to have really unrealistic expectations when they couldn’t close their offer and I realised I should really only accept applications from experienced coaches not
“Inexperienced coaches”
I can’t tell you what a difference it makes.
There is one thing I can’t do for the client during the launch and that is selling on their behalf. We can emcee it but people will buy from the seller eventually not me or my team.
This year traditional virtual events methods are going to be tough.
What used to work effortlessly is becoming increasingly difficult It's not just a bad few months of the year, it's just the way the economy works.
If you went ahead and planned a $20k- 30k event and you ticked all the boxes with a sexy funnel and a cool ads campaign and made zero dollars by the time you opened your shopping cart….
Let me tell you ….You are not alone in this.
I've been there and It's already been happening for my clients as well as myself, struggling to adapt, watching once-successful strategies fail.
In fact we just wrapped up a 5-day challenge, achieving a phenomenal 65% application rate for a $40,000 coaching program. It was amazing and we were all happy with the outcome except the client called me and said that they barely closed 2 clients at the end.
90% of the applicant who said "I Am In” to the program got rejected from the funding company.
That’s just 2 sales, and even they got to use financing…. All this even after a flawless Virtual Event we did for the client.
It's hard out there, and the ability for new customers to get funding into high ticket programs is thinning out big time.
Lenders are going down hard on coaches. The share holders are getting nervous.
I know the frustration and anxiety that comes with these changes, but unfortunately it's only going to get a lot worse.
But this is when I started to think about weekly payments options and memberships.
I want to share how we pivoted and what we are doing instead so that it does not impact us long term.
So welcome to the high ticket model membership.
You are going to be seeing this a lot this year.
1.How to Switch to Low Ticket Subscriptions:
We've taken the proven Virtual Event System strategy and adapted it in an innovative way. Instead of selling HIGH ticket programs, we switched it to low ticket continuity offer where we break the process into sections.
Section one - The Funnel
Section two- The Ads
Section three - The Emails
Section four - The Emcee
Payment sequences that’s how the client pays me in stages
We made the switch to a recent challenge and advised the client to offer the same to their prospects. She did and closed in 50 people into a $200 a month subscription.
So the point here is to start thinking about what kind of low ticket subscription you can put people in first, then you can upsell them to the next level.
I have also switched this for people wanting to be mentored by me.
I currently have $97 a month
$100 a week
$200 a week
$400 a week
Recurring revenue is crème de la crème and weekly is way better than monthly.
2.Partnering with right lenders.
There are a few good lenders out there that will still give you the best service and deals and help you out. Be smart about it and shop around.
3.Payment Plans:
I always try to collect the money upfront and if the client can pay upfront I alway reward them and throw in a few bonuses because cash is KING or Queen.
4: Revenue Share Agreements:
You can consider a program pricing: revenue share agreement.
This model involves lowering the upfront cost of the program (say, from $20k to $10k ) and incorporating a performance-based repayment component. Clients pay back as they achieve results (sales.)
This not only makes the program more accessible, but also aligns your success with the client's and they will be more likely to do events with you every month or every second month because of the benefits.
So here you have it.
I have personally moved from 85% unqualified to 95% qualified and I am totally sold with the membership style payment method.
