Chat Function - Like WhatsApp

I've been looking at previous posts on this subject and it's slightly inconclusive.

We have two membership groups, a FEM & BEM. The FEM is firing, lots of people in there and we're happy with how the community is engaging. They seem happy, that's the main thing.

Our BEM currently only has 24 people and it will probably only grow to 160-200 people to keep it small and high end.

Many of our BEM group have transitioned from a free WhatsApp group that we used to manage and they're getting frustrated by the lack of an app (and a WhatsApp group) that would better allow them to get real time advice and support from each other. We're keen to maintain conversations within the community but we also want to make sure that it's working for our members.

I know an app is in the pipeline (whoop!) and I think that will take away some of the pain if they get notifications (as with WhatsApp) every time someone posts, but are you also looking at allowing small group chats somewhere down the line?
